Re: File tagging File:Full image of Tung Tung Tung Sahur.png

[edit]

For the main context, see User talk:Fazoffic#File tagging File:Full image of Tung Tung Tung Sahur.png

@Belbury: So what about the other files in Category:Tung Tung Tung Sahur and Category:Italian brainrot memes? Isn't it written in COM:AI that In the United States, Indonesia and most other jurisdictions, only works by human authors qualify for copyright protection, Please note that this file was created in Indonesia. Do I need to put similar tags on other files in those categories because they "don't get permission"? Fazoffic (talk) 09:45, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Fazoffic: How do we know that the named TikTok user was sharing an AI-generated image, rather than one that they'd found or edited from somewhere else? And if it is AI-generated, how do we know that it wasn't based on a pre-existing photograph (eg. "make this selfie look like a wooden puppet")? Belbury (talk) 10:04, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There are many sources that discuss this. You can check it out at wikipedia:en:Italian brainrot. If you are still in doubt, you can visit the mentioned TikTok accounts. Fazoffic (talk) 11:28, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fazoffic: Thanks, as I understand it a press source saying an image is AI is good enough for Commons, I'll remove the permission template. Belbury (talk) 11:39, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Notification about possible deletion

[edit]
Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Tewodros II image

[edit]

I am not sure how to message on here. I want to request that my file be undeleted. It was not a personal photo. It was a realistic image of a historical figure for educational purposes. Could you please undelete my image of Tewodros that I think many people would appreciate? I really want to share it. Thank you so much :) Theclouds500skycapybara (talk) 20:24, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Theclouds500skycapybara, Please read The commons licensing policy and make sure the file meets these criteria . In addition, Belbury is not an admin (yet) and cannot undelete files. If you are sure it meets licensing and scope requirements, then you can file a request here All the Best -- Chuck Talk 22:28, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I am still learning. I really hope this image can be shared with the world to help them understand what the historical Tewodros might have looked like. Theclouds500skycapybara (talk) 23:17, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Changing old comments

[edit]

May I suggest that when you substantively change a comment is part of the flow of a discussion you should leave your old comment "struck out" (like this) rather than remove it entirely, so that someone who may have responded directly or indirectly to your prior comment isn't potentially left looking confused or confusing? (not an enormous issue, just a suggestion) - Jmabel ! talk 18:53, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmabel: Thanks, that's a good point about potential indirect responses. I can't tell either way if any was intended, but I've reverted my edit in case there was. Belbury (talk) 19:05, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This one wasn't a terribly big deal, but I've seen people accidentally make someone else look like an idiot or lunatic, so it's just a good practice in general. - Jmabel ! talk 20:06, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
